While the city itself is inland from the open ocean, the capital area serves as a practical base for divers heading to nearby coastal sites and dive centers. Expect easy access to boat departures from nearby ports, with typical tropical conditions, clear water, and vibrant reef life within a short drive to popular sites around Fiji’s Coral Coast and Beqa passages. In addition to marine dives, the region can support freshwater excursions further afield, but most diving activity centers on coastal reef and wall sites reachable from Suva-Lami.
