Vaersenbaai (Kokomo)

Vaersenbaai (Kokomo) is a coastal dive site near Willemstad on the island of Curacao. It offers shallow to moderate depths typical of Caribbean shore dives, with calm conditions and easy access from the nearby coast. The site features a sloping seabed and sandy patches interspersed with coral growth and rocky outcrops, making it suitable for beginners and training dives as well as more relaxed snorkeling and macro underwater photography. Expect clear tropical waters, with common Caribbean reef fish such as grunts, sergeant majors, damselfish and parrotfish, plus occasional sea turtles or reef species depending on conditions. Access is straightforward from the nearby towns, often within a short drive or boat hop, and PPE and local dive centers provide guided entry and safety briefings.
