Uss Kittiwake (Wreck)

USS Kittiwake (Wreck) is a popular mid-depth wreck dive site located offshore near Grand Cayman. The wreck is a former US Navy submarine rescue ship that sits upright on a sandy bottom and offers relatively easy penetration routes with multiple decks accessible to trained divers. Typical depths range from shallow sections around a few meters to about 20–25 meters for larger sections, making it suitable for recreational divers with appropriate training. The structure attracts a variety of reef-associated life and offers good underwater photography opportunities, especially around the hull, exposed sections, and surrounding sponge and coral gardens. Currents are usually light to moderate, and visibility is often decent, though conditions can vary with weather. The site is routinely visited by local dive operators out of nearby town centers and is commonly combined with drift and wall dives in the broader area.
