Turtle Town Oahu

Turtle Town Oahu is a beginner-friendly coral reef site off the south shore of Oahu, near Honolulu. It is known for its dense congregations of green sea turtles and clear tropical waters, with typical visibility ranging from good to excellent on calm days. Depths commonly range from shallow near 5–12 meters, opening into deeper sections around 18–25 meters where the reef slopes drop away. The site features sandy patches mixed with coral heads and small bommies, providing accessible entry from a boat or beach and a shallow, relaxed swim along the reef edge. Common reef fish include parrotfish, wrasses, surgeonfish, and occasional jacks; green sea turtles are the main highlight. Currents are generally light but can pick up with tides, so standard coastal diving practices apply. Access is straightforward from nearby coastal towns, with Leeward and Honolulu-based dive centers regularly running trips to Turtle Town.
