Theligala

Theligala is a coastal dive site near the south-western coast, typically reached from nearby towns within a short drive. The site features a rocky reef and sand patches with easy entry from a small shore-based access point. Depths are generally shallow to moderate, suitable for recreational divers with basic training, and conditions are influenced by tidal changes. Expect Mediterranean-like tropical reef fauna in this regional context, including reef fishes and quiet macro life along the seabed. The nearby towns of Akurala, Kahawa and Madampagama lie within roughly 10–20 minutes’ drive, providing convenient access and local shoreline facilities. The site is commonly explored as a relaxed drift along the ridge and may offer occasional visibility variations with sea state.
