Takot Shoal

Takot Shoal is a shallow reef site off the coast near San Juan. Typical dives here stay within a comfortable depth range, offering gentle slopes and soft-corals with a mix of small reef fish. Conditions are generally mild with clear water and moderate visibility, making it a suitable option for beginner to intermediate divers. The shoal hosts a variety of habitat, from sandy patches to grassy beds, supporting common Western Pacific reef species such as parrotfish, damselfish, wrasse, snappers, and occasional sea turtles. Access is straightforward from local piers, with entry typical from a sandy bottom. This site is often used for relaxed dives, night dives when conditions permit, and performing skill-focused training in a safe, shallow environment.
