Stragglers' Reef
Stragglers' Reef is a coastal reef dive site near Cruz Bay and Charlotte Amalie West, typically reached within minutes from town hubs. The site features a mosaic of coral heads and rocky outcrops that create a sloping inshore topography with pockets of clearer water between 6 and 18 meters. Expect moderate visibility and common Caribbean reef life such as French grunts, damselfish, parrotfish, spiny lobsters, and reef sharks on occasional encounters. Entry is from a sandy/patchy bottom with a gentle descent, making it suitable for recreational divers and those building confidence in Caribbean reefs. currents are generally mild but can vary with tides; plan breathing gas and time accordingly. Nearby towns and anchors provide easy access for local dive centers operating in the Cruz Bay/Charlotte Amalie area.
