Scoglio del sale is a small coastal site near Chiavari, Italy. Located off the Ligurian coast, it features a rocky seabed with modest depths and clear Mediterranean water. Access is straightforward from Chiavari, Rapallo, or Santa Margherita Ligure, with divers typically entering from a rocky shore or a short boat ride depending on conditions. The site is suitable for shore and boat diving and commonly offers practical, calm conditions, especially in summer. Underwater topography includes a low-lying rocky ridge and several small crevices that shelter common Western Mediterranean species such as groupers, octopus, moray eels, and various damselfish. Visibility is generally good and currents are usually mild, making it a suitable option for recreational divers and those building entry-level sea-dive experience.
