Stake Bay
Plymouth Rock
Plymouth Rock is a local dive site in the Plymouth area noted for its proximity to nearby coastal communities. The site is best described by its shallow coastal topography and access from local beaches or shore entries. Conditions here are typical of sheltered Atlantic coastal dives with generally calm seas, moderate visibility, and seabed features that may include rocky outcrops and sandy patches. Marine life is representative of temperate western Atlantic waters, with common reef fishes, blennies, snappers and wrasses, plus the chance of encountering crustaceans and small elasmobranchs on deeper sections. This site suits beginners and recreational divers looking for a straightforward shallow dive close to town, and it can be combined with the nearby coastal areas of Stake Bay and Cotton Tree Bay for a longer half-day dive session.
