Playa de los Tarajales is a coastal dive site near Los Cristianos on Tenerife’s south coast. The site is characterized by shallow sloping reef and rocky outcrops with typical Canary Islands marine life. Expect calm conditions in good weather and visibility that varies with wind and surge. The entry is straightforward from the rocky shore, making it accessible for beginners as part of local shore-diving practice; more experienced divers may explore small ledges and bottom gullies at shallow depths. The area supports common western Atlantic/Mediterranean-like species such as damselfish, wrasse, parrotfish, moray eels, and octopus, with occasional nudibranchs and a chance of larger pelagic sightings on favorable days. Being close to town, it’s a convenient option for a half-day dive and a good training site or check-dive venue when conditions allow.
