Pifferaio

Pifferaio is a coastal dive site in the Ligurian Sea, near Spotorno in Italy. The site lies close to the shore with easy access and typically shallow conditions suitable for recreational diving. Expect rocky substrates and underwater topography that can include small drop-offs and rock formations. The area around Spotorno, Bergeggi and Merello hosts typical Western Mediterranean life such as groupers, wrasses, octopuses, moray eels, and a variety of wrasses and damsels around rocky outcrops and posidonia meadows. Visibility is generally good in calm conditions, though it can vary with sea state. Local diving often combines shore entries with short boat trips to nearby reefs and keeps a relaxed, accessible profile for warm-water Mediterranean divers.
