Pale Pale is a shallow reef site off the east coast coast near Zanzibar, known for its sandy bottom and a gentle slope. Access is straightforward from local beaches, with easy entry for beginner divers and snorkelers. The site typically features calm conditions with moderate visibility, making for relaxed dives along a pale, sandy seabed with patches of seagrass and scattered coral formations. Marine life commonly includes small reef fish, wrasse, and occasional flatworms and shrimps among the rubble and sand. It’s best suited for easy first dives, practice sessions, and gentle drift dives in light currents.
