New Barge

New Barge is a local dive site in Hawaii, commonly accessed from East Honolulu area. The site typically features a sunken barge resting on sandy and rocky bottom with water temperatures in tropical ranges and visibility that can vary with conditions. Dive entry is usually from shore or a short boat ride from nearby harbors, and currents can occur depending on tides. The site offers a straightforward drift or shore dive with a focus on the artificial structure, where divers may explore the hull, decks and openings for marine life and small invertebrates. Surrounding habitats include sandy patches and nearby reef areas that attract a range of tropical reef species such as wrasse, parrotfish, tangs, damselfish and various groupers, with occasional pelagic activity during calmer days.
