Mondsee Kreuzstein is a local freshwater dive site in Austria’s Mondsee region, suitable for training and recreational dives. The site features a submerged rocky ridge and a grid of sunken stones forming a gentle slope around you, with depths typically ranging from shallow to moderate. Visibility can vary with weather and wind, and water is cold, especially outside summer months, so a drysuit or 7mm wetsuit is advised. The site is popular for practice dives and macro species, including small crustaceans, freshwater snails, and calm shoals of small fish around the rocky structures. Access is straightforward from nearby towns, with parking close to the shore and easy shore entry.
