Merville Patches

Merville Patches is a shallow reef site off the northwest coast, typically accessed from Grand Baie and Cap Malheureux. The area features a series of small coral outcrops and sandy gaps down to around 12–18 meters, with sloping ridges that create pockets rich in macro life and small reef fish. Conditions are commonly calm, with good visibility on clearer days; mild currents may occur at depth or around the ridges. It’s a suitable site for beginners and for muckier macro searches in the sand between patches. Nearby dive centers from Grand Baie provide access and briefs on entry and local currents.
