Cruz Bay
Ledges Of Little St. James
Ledges of Little St. James is a shallow to moderate-depth reef and ledge site located near Cruz Bay, within a short boat ride from Saint John, U.S. Virgin Islands. The site features a sloping limestone reef with a series of rubbly ledges and small overhangs that shelter typical Caribbean reef life. Expect clear tropical water, mild to moderate currents, and good visibility on typical days. Common encounters include schooling grunts and workhorse snappers, parrotfish, angelfish, and trunkfish, with chances to spot spotted moray eels around the rocky crests. Entry is usually from a boat or shore, depending on conditions, with easy to intermediate navigation along the ledges. This site is well-suited for beginner to intermediate divers and for macro enthusiasts exploring crevices and small caverns between the ledges.
