La Fosca

La Fosca is a local Mediterranean dive site near Palamós, within small coves on the Costa Brava. Access is straightforward from the coast, with typical conditions for a shallow, sheltered site. The dive profile usually features a sloping seabed with rocky blocks and small ledges, suitable for beginners and for practicing buoyancy and basic navigation. Expect calm seas in good weather, with visibility that can vary seasonally. Common Western Mediterranean species include groupers, wrasse, octopus, moray eels, and pouting on the rocky bottoms, along with flourishing posidonia meadows in the surrounding seabed.
