Nardò
Junker 88
Junker 88 is a coastal wreck dive off the Salento coast, near Nardò and Gallipoli. The site features the remains of a World War II Junkers aircraft wreck that lies on a gentle seabed, typically at shallow to mid depths. Access is from the shore or a local dive boat, with a straightforward entry and a stable descent. Visibility is variable but often good in calm conditions. The wreck offers a compact structural profile for penetration or exterior exploration depending on debris layout and training level. Typical Mediterranean fish life and a range of invertebrates may be observed around the wreck. The site is suitable for experienced wreck divers with proper buoyancy control and planning; beginners can opt for non-penetration dives with a conservative approach. Nearby towns such as Nardò, Galatone and Gallipoli provide access points and services for divers visiting the area.
