Galle Ship Wreck
Galle Ship Wreck is a coastal Sri Lankan dive site near the city of Galle. The site features a wreck within a shallow to mid-depth range accessible from the shore or a short boat ride. Divers typically encounter a wreck structure encrusted with marine life and surrounded by clear tropical waters and sandy seabed. The area is known for mild to moderate currents and visibility that improves with calm weather. Typical tropical reef-dwelling species, including snappers, fusiliers, groupers, angelfish, parrotfish, and nurse sharks, may be seen around the wreck and surrounding reef systems. Access is straightforward from nearby towns such as Galle and Rumassala, with several dive centers offering guided trips.
