Ernie’s Cave near Puerto Galera is a shallow, seafloor cave dive typical of the Verde Island Passage. Divers enter through a narrow arch and explore a dim, protected chamber with a sandy bottom and ambient light filtering through the entrance. The site is generally accessible to recreational divers with basic buoyancy control and awareness of entanglement hazards. Expect clear tropical water, moderate currents at times, and a calm, sheltered environment on calm days. The surrounding area hosts a range of coral formations, small reef fishes, and crinoids typical of shallow Philippine reefs. Because this is a relatively local site, it serves well for a relaxed drift into a limestone cave environment and easy backup for a half-day dive from Puerto Galera or Batangas hubs.
