Eric’s Pinnacle is a local Pacific Grove/Monterey area dive site characterized by a prominent rocky pinnacle rising from the seabed, typically surrounded by calmer coastal waters. Entry is usually from a public beach or rocky shore with a short swim to the drop, followed by a gentle descent to the pinnacle which tops out around the mid‑teens meters. The site commonly features clear to good visibility and a mix of kelp, rock walls, and crevices that shelter a variety of bounded schooling fish, wrasse, and neighboring invertebrates. Divers may explore the outer slopes and swim throughs around the pinnacle, with chances to encounter occasional kelp‑forest residents and bottom-dwelling species. Currents can be variable, so a safety stop and careful air management are advised. This is a local, accessible dive for guests staying in the Monterey Bay area, often combined with drift dives along the coast when conditions permit.
