Charlie’s Reef

Charlie’s Reef is a local shore dive near Cotton Tree Bay and West End, offering straightforward access for drift and reef dives in calm tropical waters. The site features a sandy to rubble bottom with scattered coral heads and a sheltered wall between shallow plateaus, typically between about 6 and 18 meters. Expect a relaxed underwater stroll with mid-range visibility on good days. Common reef inhabitants include small damselfish, parrotfish, angelfish, and moray eels, with occasional brighter reef species along the edge of the reef. The area benefits from gentle currents and easy ascent options, making it suitable for early-season divers and training dives from nearby centers. Access is easy from the coast, with nearby towns within a few kilometers offering facilities and dive operator support.
