Cap Peyrefite

Cap Peyrefite is a local Mediterranean dive site near Cerbère, Banyuls-sur-Mer and Portbou, typically reachable within a few minutes from these coastal towns. The area features rocky reefs, sloping seabeds and clear Atlantic‑influenced waters common to the northern Catalan coast. Depths are shallow to moderate, with typical profiles around a few to several meters and deeper sections along drop‑offs that attract macro life. Expect common Western Mediterranean species such as groupers, wrasses, moray eels and octopus, with posidonia seagrass beds providing habitat for smaller fish. The site suits easy to moderate conditions and is often used for training and snapshot dives, especially when seas are calm. Access is straightforward from the coastal towns, making Cap Peyrefite a practical option for a relaxed local dive.
