Cannonball Cut

Cannonball Cut is an ocean dive site off Stock Island, within easy reach of Key West. Located on the Florida Keys reef tract, the site features a sloping bottom with patches of hard and soft coral, ledges and small overhangs that attract a variety of reef fish. Depths are typically shallow to moderate, making it accessible for beginner to intermediate divers under calm conditions. Common sightings include snappers, parrotfish, angelfish, reef creole, and occasional reef sharks or barracuda closer to structure. Currents are usually light to moderate, with best conditions in calm seas and good visibility. Access is straightforward from nearby harbors and dive boats operate regular trips from Stock Island and Key West.
