Canhoneira Faro is a coastal reef dive site located near Faro in southern Portugal. The site features shallow to mid-depth coral-reef structures and rocky ledges that host a variety of Mediterranean-Atlantic species typical for the Algarve, including small groupers, wrasse, damsels, moray eels and octopus. Entry is usually from a sheltered point with easy shore access or short boat drop-offs, making it suitable for beginner to intermediate divers depending on sea conditions. Visibility can vary with plankton and tides, and occasional currents may occur along the wall sections. The site lies close to the town of Faro and is commonly reached from nearby hubs such as Portimão, Lagos or Lagoa within a short drive to explore additional local dive options.
