Cala Nova

Cala Nova is a straightforward Mediterranean dive site near Palafrugell on the Costa Brava. Access is quick from the coast and the site typically features a shallow to mid-depth sloping sandy/rocky seabed with clear water conditions under normal weather. The area is known for its calm conditions and straightforward entry, making it a suitable option for beginner to intermediate divers. Expect typical Western Mediterranean life such as groupers, wrasses, octopus, and moray eels among rocky outcrops and some posidonia meadows in the surrounding area. The site can be used for training dives or relaxed recreational dives, with visibility commonly ranging in the region of several meters to well over ten meters in good conditions. Currents are usually mild, and local dive centers operate from nearby coastal towns to support trips to Cala Nova.
