La Maddalena
Cala Inglese
Cala Inglese is a small, protected coastal dive site on the north coast of La Maddalena. The site typically features shallow to mid-depth rocky reef and slope structures with clear Mediterranean water. Entry is from a sandy beach or rocky shore, with gentle to moderate currents depending on tides. Expect a mix of typical Western Mediterranean reef life: gentle schools of small fish, Mediterranean groupers, wrasses, octopus, moray eels, and various nudibranchs. Posidonia meadows may be found nearby in sheltered areas. Conditions are generally calm in fair weather, making it suitable for recreational dives and beginner to intermediate levels, though depths can extend beyond beginner ranges on deeper gullies or walls. Nearby access points include La Maddalena town and Capo Ferro, both within a short drive.
