Cais De Machico

Cais de Machico is a local shoreline dive site in the Machico area on Madeira. The site offers straightforward entry from the quay and a sheltered, gently sloping seabed typical of sandy coastal habitats. Expect clear Atlantic water with calm conditions on good days and shallow depths suitable for beginner to intermediate divers. The ambiance is mainly a nearshore playground for practicing buoyancy and basic navigation, rather than a stand-alone reef or wreck site. Marine life is common for this part of the Madeiran coast, including small fish, wrasse and grazing species, with occasional rays seen closer to the sand.
