Barracuda Drift

Barracuda Drift is a coastal drift dive along the reef edge in clear tropical waters. Entry is typically from a gentle current line and a boat or shore setup allows a relaxed drift while following the contour of the reef. Expect schooling pelagics and a variety of reef residents common to Pacific island reefs, such as barracuda, trevally, fusiliers, snappers and parrotfish. The drift usually remains within moderate depths and visibility is often good, making it suitable for advanced-beginner to intermediate divers with current exposure managed by guide briefing. Bottom structure features a sloping reef with ledges and small swim-throughs where macro life can be seen, including nudibranchs and small crustaceans. Surface intervals depend on weather and current, with nearby access from Cuvu Top and Voua hubs; local dive centers frequently run safety procedures and briefings for drift dives. Be mindful of occasional changes in current strength and water conditions. Typical tropical marine life and reef topography characterize this site along the outer reef edge.
