Palafrugell

Badia De Tamariu

Badia de Tamariu is a shallow, sheltered Mediterranean bay along the Costa Brava. The site is typically reached by a short boat ride or a calm shore entry from Tamariu or nearby towns. Bottom structure consists of rocky seabed with patches of posidonia meadows and occasional sandy pockets; visibility is commonly moderate and conditions are generally gentle, suitable for entry-level and drift-diver training when conditions allow. Marine life includes typical Western Mediterranean species such as groupers, damselfish, octopus, moray eels, and small crustaceans, with the surrounding seabed forming a mosaic of rocky outcrops and seagrass. The area is influenced by seasonal currents and is often calmer outside peak wind periods. Access from Palafrugell, Begur or Palamós is convenient, placing the site within short reach of local dive shops and boats.
