Azul Diving Reef

Azul Diving Reef is a local coastal site near Funchal, Madeira, accessible from the nearby towns of Câmara de Lobos and Caniço. The site comprises a shallow reef system with rises and patches of hard corals, typically offering gentle to moderate currents and clear Atlantic water. Expect a mix of reef-associated fish, wrasses, damselfish, and possibly octopus and small morays around crevices. Entry is usually from a rocky shore or small boat, with a route that suits beginner to intermediate divers. This site is best dived in calm conditions and provides a straightforward, relaxed profile suitable for practising buoyancy and basic reef exploration.
