Armchair Reef

Armchair Reef is a shallow, easy-access reef dive near George Town and West Bay, typically within a few minutes’ boat ride from local shores. The site features a gently sloping coral garden with scattered plates and small ledges, making it suitable for beginners and for relaxed drift dives in calm conditions. Expect soft and hard corals hosting a variety of reef fish such as angelfish, parrotfish, damselfish, and butterflyfish, with occasional moray eels along crevices. Visibility ranges with sea conditions but is often good in clear days. Entry is from a sandy/patch reef zone, with a relaxed swim-out to confirm orientation. Marine life can include crabs, shrimps, shrimp gobies, and occasional sea fans. Access is convenient from George Town and West Bay, with nearby beaches and local dive centers offering guided trips and gear rental.
