Seychelles is an island scuba-diving destination in the Indian Ocean, with most diving based around Mahé, Praslin, and La Digue. Expect warm, mostly clear saltwater and a mix of coral gardens, rocky granite formations, and sheltered bays as well as drop-offs and outer reef walls. Conditions vary with season and site exposure, so some dives are calm and shallow while others are more current-swept offshore. The area is known for diverse reef life, including reef fish, turtles, and the chance to see rays and larger pelagics on suitable days. Night and drift-friendly sites are offered depending on the local conditions, but the best plan is usually to match the day’s visibility and current to the site brief from a dive center.
