Poland has relatively limited scuba diving compared with classic warm-water destinations. Most diving happens along the Baltic Sea coast and around the Hel Peninsula and nearby towns such as Hel, Jastarnia, and Mechelinki. Conditions are typically cold, especially outside summer, with lower visibility than in open-ocean locations and strong seasonality in water temperature. Divers commonly explore coastal wrecks and harbor/reef-like structures, as well as local seabed habitats in sheltered areas. The Baltic’s brackish influence can affect salinity and marine life, so expect a different ecosystem than the Atlantic or Mediterranean. For training, night dives, and structured trips, Poland’s coastal sites can still be a good choice if you’re comfortable with cold-water practices and appropriate exposure protection.
