Palau is a Pacific island nation best known for scuba diving around the Rock Islands and the Palau Barrier Reef, where you can find a mix of walls, channels, and clear lagoon water. Conditions are often excellent with good visibility, strong tides around popular passes, and water temperatures that stay comfortable for most of the year. Expect warm, tropical reef ecosystems with turtles, reef fish, and (in some areas and seasons) large pelagics; topography also creates dramatic vertical drops that many divers enjoy. Access is generally concentrated around Koror and nearby islands, with most dive services organizing boat trips and guided dives timed to tide conditions.
