North America
🇳🇮 Nicaragua
Nicaragua’s scuba diving is mainly concentrated on the Caribbean side of the country, along the coast facing the North Atlantic and the Caribbean Sea. The best-known base is the Corn Islands area (you’ll often see local diving around towns like Carib Town and South End), where divers can access nearshore coral and rocky sections typical of the Caribbean, with warm water and generally comfortable conditions outside of rough-weather periods. Day trips are common, and sites are usually reached by short boat rides from local ports. Inland areas such as Managua are far from the sea and don’t offer scuba diving in the usual sense, so most divers plan their time around the Caribbean coast.
