Czechia is largely landlocked, so scuba diving is mostly practiced in freshwater rather than in ocean or sea environments. The typical diving experience is in lakes, reservoirs, and especially quarry-style sites (often with limited current), where visibility can vary a lot depending on season and water conditions. Water temperatures are usually cool, and thermoclines are common, so dives require drysuits or thicker thermal protection for much of the year. As a country, Czechia is more about inland training, wrecks in quarries, and controlled conditions than about warm-water reefs. For divers who want true saltwater, you typically combine a Czechia trip with regional travel to the Baltic or the Adriatic, where the water type and marine life are very different.
