Ottawa is Canada's capital city, located inland in Ontario along the Ottawa River. It is not a coastal diving destination and diving options within the city are limited to training and nearby freshwater sites. A short drive away, several inland lakes offer basic scuba training or recreational dives with local clubs, while far from the city, freshwater quarries and resorts may provide weekend dives for those pursuing underwater skills. In general, Ottawa’s dive relevance comes from access to Canadian dive centers, logistics, and being a gateway city for divers visiting eastern Canada, rather than from local reef or pelagic diving.
