Burgenland

Burgenland is an inland region in eastern Austria. Diving here is primarily freshwater and lake-based, centered around static, scenic lakes like Neusiedler See, where calm waters and reed beds create habitats for local fish and waterfowl. The region’s dive centers and nearby towns offer introductory and recreational dives, but the area is not a traditional sea dive destination. Expect shallow to moderate depths, mild water temperatures, and visibility influenced by seasonal wind and algae blooms. Access is easy from Vienna and other Austrian cities, with day trips and weekend visits common for lake divers.
