Serbia is a landlocked country, so most scuba diving is freshwater rather than ocean. The main opportunities tend to be around larger rivers and lakes, where divers look for workable access, entry points, and basic local support through a small number of dive centers. Water conditions can vary a lot by season (visibility, current, and temperature), and many trips are planned around day-to-day conditions instead of fixed “blue-water” expectations. For divers, Serbia is more about practical freshwater diving, training, and specialty exploration (navigation, buoyancy, and site management) than about the big set-piece reefs you’d find in coastal destinations.
